Great Gramma Fun!

Addison is one lucky lady - not only does she have grandparents who love her (a ton!), she has GREAT grandparents who love her too! After a weekend visit with great grammy, we made our way down to Tacoma to see great gramma (my dad's mom) for a requested "four generations picture."

Visit from Great Grammy!



Great grammy came all the way from Orange County to visit the little miss. Grammy visited last January too - before we knew there was a baby on the way and during the one snow storm we had last year - so this trip was quite different from the last. Addison LOVED meeting her great grammy. We had lots of cuddles, fun dinners and even a day of wine tasting in Woodinville, which Addison didn't mind at all (I see a new way to spend some weekends in the future...) Thanks so much for coming to visit us!

Addison: Four Months

Although Addison is actually FIVE months now, I need to get these four month photos and her official stats up on the blog before I post the latest so bear with me!

Four month stats (1/31/13):

• Height: 24.5 inches (47th percentile)
• Weight: 14 pounds, 7 ounces (52nd percentile) – This time, I guessed this DEAD ON!
• Head circumference: 42.5 cm (91st percentile)

Aside from the "official" growth markers, Addison continues to grow and change every day. There is still a lot of laughing, talking, kicking and grabbing everything in sight! What we thought was the start of a tooth is actually just a little white spot on her gums. Her pediatrician said that many babies get them, but they are not teeth just little bumps that go away. No teeth to report quite yet!

However, Addison did have a great discovery this month... her feet! She grabs them any chance she gets. Mostly in the tub or while she is being changed - that dang diaper must get in the way of her flexibility!

While there is no consistent rolling over (at four months), she did have her first tummy to back roll on January 11th. I put her in her crib on her tummy with some toys to go dry my hair. I came out two minutes later and she was on her back, squished against the side of her crib. Definitely not the way I put her in there!

She is still a great sleeper at night (yay!) and is becoming more of a napper too (another yay!)  She is very active and has been loving stints in her exersaucer (Kenai loves them too - she is at his level and a prime candidate for licks!)

The doctor said that we can start to introduce "solids" between four and six months. We are not quite ready to tackle that quite yet (since that means she is REALLY growing up), but are thinking we will at the five month mark so stay tuned...

   around. I have a feeling this is the start of a LONG-LASTING loving relationship.

This picture of Addison in the swing kills me ;) Bob and I haven't put her in the swing for a really long time and we decided to try it out again recently. Both of us died laughing once we saw how big she was in there.

Up, up and AWAY!

In mid-January Addison took her first plane ride. It was a quick jaunt to Montana, on a small plane, and she did great! I was a bit nervous to take her on my own, but all the moms in my PEPS group assured me that it would be a breeze. Thankfully, they were right! I received great advice about traveling through the airport with her and I must say, it was pretty darn easy. Now the mom that was traveling with her four year old... not so much. Fingers crossed Addison continues the good travel behavior - I keep telling her daddy will take her to Hawaii if she does ;)

I am very thankful that Lauren and Jess have most of the baby gear, which made what could have been a nightmare packing experience into a pretty easy one... We had a great week in Montana - we took some snowy walks, relaxed a lot, met up with the Kachmariks and Lauren and I even got to have massages! It felt so odd traveling from Tuesday to Saturday, but I loved taking advantage of my maternity leave and weekday flexibility!

In other news, Chasie got her internship and moved into our house! Just as I was headed to MT with Addison, Chase was putting the finishing touches on her bedroom. It is so fun to see the downstairs room in our house made up as a real room instead of a catch-all for the random stuff that hadn't quite found a home post-move. Chase did a great job with the awkward shape of the room and for all you Harry Potter fans, she is now accepting mail addressed to "Chase Yeakel, Cupboard Under the Stairs."

We also attended our last "official" PEPS meeting. I cannot believe how quickly 12 weeks went by (and how much these babies grew!) I am so thankful for the mamas in my PEPS group. PEPS meetings got us out of the house weekly (on days that I may not have had the motivation to do so) and the other mamas made the transition to motherhood so much easier. We will continue to meet, but won't see each other quite as often now that so many are back at work. I will say some of the "unofficial" meetings have been a bit mind-boggling for Bob. Recently he asked me what time I was going on a walk with my PEPS mamas. Walk? Who said anything about a walk? We are meeting for happy hour!

Happy Birthday Bob-o/Daddy!

What was once ALWAYS a ski weekend, or ski day at the very least, Bob's birthday was a bit different this year with a little one in tow. We talked about a snow shoe, but the Seahawks were playing early in the afternoon and Bob wanted to make it back for the game so we quickly nixed that idea. We discussed a few other options and settled on a hike out towards Snoqualmie Pass. We left the partly sunny skies of Seattle (a rare January day!) and the minute we exited the freeway, to make our way to the trailhead, it started to rain. As Seattleites, we should know that the weather can change at the drop of a hat, but alas, we didn't and were not dressed appropriately for a wet hike. To make the most of our drive, we quickly changed course and made our way to Snoqualmie Falls for a little walk and photo shoot.

We finished the day off with a yummy dinner and opening gifts - Addison and Kenai were VERY helpful :)

Happy New Year!

A New Year's post in mid-February... SWEET! I guess its my way of reminding everyone to get back on top of your New Year's resolutions ;)

Our first New Year's celebration with a little one was perfect! We invited our friends Lisa and Tyler over with their little boy Conner who's four. We ate fondue, drank wine, played a game and in true Kehrli fashion, passed out on the couch about 5 minutes after the clock struck midnight. Our guests thought it was hilarious and we are still hearing about it!

Maybe our New Year's resolution should be to go to sleep in our bed rather than on the couch... on second thought, maybe not!

Well, after a slight hiatus, we are BACK in the blogosphere. We made the blog private and I am still sending invites to folks so if you hear of anyone that would like access, just let me know. I decided that I didn't love having Addison's life online for anyone to see, especially since she can't make that decision on her own quite yet, so bear with me as you will now need to sign in to view our blog.

Addison has grown A LOT since my last post and I will try to get a few posts up in the next couple of days. So check back - pictures are coming... I PROMISE! (And here is a recent picture from our little Valentine to tide you over...)
